On Friday 5th Aprile at 10:30 a.m. at University Statale di Milano, Elena Brambilla’s Room, via Festa del Perdono 7, Markus Meckl, Professor at the University of Akureyri in Iceland and coordinator of Erasmus project CLEO, introduced by Professor Giulia Lami of University of Milan, gives a Lectio Magistralis on “Constructing post-heroic memory – the shifting narratives of our past”
The project CLEO Erasmus+ (Cultural memory in Europe: commemoration, memory making and identity in the 21st century) of which ARMES Progetti is one of the partners, investigates the change of memory-making and commemoration in the ’post-heroic’ Society in Europe. Exploring the theme of cultural memory in Europe and discussing the changing of perception of the national heroes the project examines the “shift from heroization to victimization” that led to the emergence of novel manifestations of global forms of memory in the 21th century.
